A blessed and peaceful Sunday to you, blog reader. I am happy to have you stop by today.
David and I had a wickedly busy Easter weekend with my sister’s family visiting Thursday – Saturday, then serving two Easter meals – one with David’s daughter and her family and one with my son and his girlfriend – on Sunday. I love holidays, but often I find them exhausting. I was sick the week my sister was visiting and ended up having to take a few days off this week with strep throat. That may be a reason why I was feeling really run down last weekend.
In contrast, this weekend it’s just David and me enjoying a quiet and uneventful couple of days before he leaves again on Monday. I had the chance today to spend a little time in the craft room and create a few cards from using the April 2024 SheetLoad of Cards instructions created by Call Me {Crafty} Al on YouTube. #SUYSApr2024 #ShowUsYourSheetLoad
I started out my crafting today intending to use the SheetLoad with retired DSP to make some cards for Send A Smile Today, a non-profit that send monthly cards to cancer patients. I like the SheetLoad for this project because I can cut once, craft once and get a bunch of cards made. I intended to make 16 cards, but after 8 I started looking at the pattern a little differently and pulled out a different stamp set – the retiring (darn it) Rock Star Bundle and designer series paper. I modified the cuts and created two slightly different cards.
Here’s the card following the original directions
And my first alternate
And my second alternate
As you can see, the alternates do not completely deviate from the original, but for me playing with the original made me want to play with it more. I’m not sure if you can tell, but my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends colored guitar has Wink of Stella on the pick guard. Glittery is always good. Also, I should mention that Send a Smile Today specifically requests that card makers not send envelopes, so I did not make any today.
If you have a stamp positioning tool, I highly recommend using it for the inside guitar. I had to stamp it twice to get it as dark as I wanted, so being able to re-ink and restamp is a huge bonus. I currently use the Misti which can be found at a number of online shops.
I’m curious, what non-profits do you donate cards to? I send fewer cards than I make (I’m working on that issue) and I have a lot of cards that I don’t blog especially when I do One Sheet Wonder or the SheetLoad cards. I’d love to hear where you donate cards. Also, I have a lot of open, retired DSP that I cannot list in my retired shop. Do you know where I can donate that? I’ve overwhelmed my church youth programs LOL.
Thank you!

The easiest way to see which items are still in stock at any time is to visit my online store.
While it's always sad to see the end of any catalog with lots of retiring products, you can be sure Stampin' Up! has lots of lovely NEW products ready for us in the 2024-25 Annual Catalog, launching in May!
Retired Stampin’ Up! Products
My online Stampin’ Up! retired product store has been refreshed with additional products. I will be adding more retired products as I come across them. I have a variety of stamps, dies and embellishments. My stamps and dies are all gently used and most were purchased within the last two years (although some may be “vintage”). Dies might be on magnet cards as I did not start saving the original packaging until just recently. Designer Series Paper and embellishments are new in unopened packages unless otherwise stated.
Due to Stampin’ Up! policies, I can only ship to U. S. addresses.
