Oh how I love the way this card turned out! First, I was gifted the Geometric Patterns Embossing Folders for my December 25 (yep, I’m a Christmas baby) birthday. Friends, there are two – 2!! – lovely embossing folders in this set. Y’all know that I use, and therefore own, a lot of embossing folders, but I did not already own these beauties. How exciting! I couldn’t wait to play with them.
I pulled out the Irresistible Blooms bundle that I haven’t yet used enough. I love the two sizes of flowers and that there is a set of dies to cut the flowers, leaves and more out. I’m always about dies if there is an option. Well, dies and punches. Because, you know, I’m not a patient fussy cutter.
My color choices are inspired by the Color Throwdown 772 #CD772. I used Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana and Gold Foil Sheets on this card.
I also played along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge 238 #TTTC238. I played along the bottom row with Free-Embellishment-Die Cut. In my world this also qualifies for the left side down – December Holiday (my mom’s December 2 birthday is a holiday, right??)-Metallic-Free.
Now, on to the card. I used the wide water painter and dabbed some Night of Navy ink on a clear block D. I used the water painter to draw the ink into the water and simply brushed it on the cardstock. I let it dry and ink to lightly brush the Basic White cardstock before stamping in the same color full strength over the watercoloring. I cleaned off the water painter and did the same with the Coastal Cabana. I wanted only a light brushing for the background, so I was not concerned with patches of white showing through.
I used the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine to die cut the three large flowers. I also used the Mini to cut three large leaves and three curved leaves. I used the Geometric Embossing Folder in the Mini and embossed a panel of Basic White cardstock. I placed a piece of Night of Navy & Gold 1/2″ Ribbon horizontally over the middle of the panel and attached it to the back of the panel with Stampin’ Seal. I used liquid glue to adhere the Night of Navy flowers over and on either side of the Night of Navy ribbon. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Costal Cabana flower centered over the ribbon. I used liquid glue to adhere the gold foil leaves under each of the flowers. Stampin’ dimensionals were also used on the embossed panel to adhere it to the Basic White – Thick card base. I added one large and two small Brushed Brass Butterflies to the front of the card.
For the inside Basic White layer, I swiped the upper left corner with my embossing buddy, then used the texture stamp from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set with Versamark Ink. I sprinkled Gold Metallics Embossing Powder on the Versamark, tapped off the excess and sprinkled again. I tapped off the excess again and used my Heat Tool to emboss the powder.
I used Stampin’ Seal on the Night of Navy & Gold 1/2″ ribbon and adhered a 4″ piece to the bottom of the Basic White layer. I used the Stampin’ Seal on the back of the Basic White layer and adhered it to the Night of Navy mat. Following that, I used liquid glue to adhere the matted inside layer to the card base.
I used the water pen and Coastal Cabana Ink to lightly watercolor the Basic White Medium Envelope flap and then stamped the flower in Coastal Cabana ink. I then used the same Geometric embossing folder to dry emboss the envelope flap. I always forget this is an option, but it’s a great one to add depth and texture to your envelope flap.
I stamped the front of the envelope with the Irresistible Blooms stamp set textured stamp twice using Coastal Cabana stamped off once. I then stamped the flower in full strength Coastal Cabana.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to check out today’s card.

Last Chance Sale 21 Nov 2023 to 3 Jan 2024
A new catalog is exciting, but it also means we have to say goodbye to some products. Beginning 21 November 2023 through 3 Jan 2024, Last Chance Products will be on sale. Not every product on the retiring list will be leaving (bundles, for example, may be retiring, but the individual pieces might still be available) but what is retiring will go quickly. Make sure you get your favorites before they are gone forever.
Below are the Last Chance Sale carryover and retiring lists in Excel format. The retiring list is in landscape to allow for increased font size. These lists were last updated on 27 Dec 2023 at 8:00 pm.
