A happy and blessed Sunday, y’all. We have had a very wet and cold weekend here in Mount Vernon, Texas. I heard we were to get as many as 2 inches of rain today which makes sense as it has rained very hard most of the day. We’ve even had the power go out twice today – thankfully not for very long.
Have you ever heard of the Dahlia fold? I had not, but as soon as I saw it I thought it would be great for my ongoing efforts to use up retiring DSP before new DSP is available in just over a week! I had planned another card for today, but after seeing this fold and finding a resource from Connie Stewart showing how to make it I knew the Dahlia Fold would be today’s card. Look for another folded DSP card on Tuesday 🙂
I have provided you with a PDF filled with plenty of photos to help you make today’s card. I will also have a live video tonight on both Facebook and YouTube demonstrating how to make this card. I feel like this is one of those “a video is worth a million words” kind of cards. It’s actually an easy fold to do, but it sure did look complicated to me!
I used Earthen Elegance designer series paper for the card today. It just so happens that I found a pocket envelope full of 6″ x 6″ sheets this week. I love this DSP, but I think it’s multiplying instead of reducing.
I hope you’ll join me tonight at 6 pm Central on YouTube for a demonstration on how to make the Dahlia Fold. Once you master it, and it’s not hard, you can use your beautiful dahlia for cards, scrapbook pages and even instead of a bow on a gift. The options are wide open for this beautiful flower.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for coming to my blog today. I hope you make this card – if you do, please tag me at #StampWithNel.
I typically post card blogs on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday and email a newsletter on Wednesdays. I very much appreciate every visitor and every comment. I hope you found something here that encourages you to return for my next blog post. It’s my pleasure to help you nurture your creativity.
Join me for a free live cardmaking class every Sunday at 6 pm central. You may view the class live on Facebook or YouTube. You can find my Facebook page here and the Stamp With Nel YouTube channel (@stampwithnel) here. I invite you to join me for the class or watch it on the replay.

Retired Stampin’ Up! Products
My online Stampin’ Up! retired product store has been refreshed with additional products. I will be adding more retired products as I come across them. I have a variety of stamps, dies and embellishments. My stamps and dies are all gently used and most were purchased within the last two years (although some may be “vintage”). Dies might be on magnet cards as I did not start saving the original packaging until just recently. Designer Series Paper and embellishments are new in unopened packages unless otherwise stated.
Due to Stampin’ Up! policies, I can only ship to U. S. addresses.
