Hello and welcome to my Tuesday blog. I’m glad you’re here today.
Today I’m working with a color palette that’s actually from the Thursday Blog Hop on March 7. I made two cards for the hop and couldn’t decide which one I wanted to use, so I’m blogging both of cards this week. Here are today’s colors:
It’s hard to believe that Easter is at the end of the month – but maybe even harder to believe it’s already March! My how time flies. Since Easter is so close, it’s time for another Easter card. You may recall that the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog contains a darling Easter Bunny Stamp Set and Punch. I’m not using the Bunny Punch today. Instead I’m using the Hexagon Punch.
You might recall that I don’t usually use Designer Series Paper for a color challenge. Well, today I did but it’s likely not what you think I’d choose. I’m using the pretty B side of the beautiful Meandering Meadows 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper as an accent on my Bubble Bath panel.
For the front of the card I used Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath for the front top layer. I cut two Meandering Meadows pieces with the Hexagon Punch, then cut them each in half the short way. I adhered them to the Bubble Bath panel using liquid glue. Next I used the flowered Fun Patterns Embossing folder on the Bubble Bath piece. I placed both the Fresh Freesia and the embossed Bubble Bath panel on the Basic White mat and adhered them to the panel with liquid glue.
I stamped part of an upright bunny on a scrap of Basic White and added a little butterfly on the bunny’s nose. I used the Hexagon Punch to punch out the bunny and their butterfly friend before coloring the background with light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends and the bunny with light Gray Granite and light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I used the Hexagon Punch and cut pieces of Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia cardstock. I cut each down the middle the long way and adhered them to each side of the Basic White bunny hexagon, keeping the top and bottom edges even.
I cut a banner of Bubble Bath cardstock and stamped the Easter Bunny Photopolymer Stamp Set Easter eggs in Bubble Bath ink, stamped off once, on the banner, and the Happy Easter sentiment in Balmy Blue ink over the eggs. I added the bunny to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut tails at the right side of the the sentiment banner with the Banners Pick A Punch and left the other side straight. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the bunny to the card panel. I placed some liquid glue on the tail end of the sentiment and I added five (5) Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems Three-Pack gems to the front panel of the card.
Inside the card I used a Lemon Lolly mat with a Basic White sentiment panel. I stamped the floral image in the upper left and lower right corners and colored with Stampin’ Blends. I adhered the sentiment panel to the Lemon Lolly mat with Stampin’ Seal and then adhered both to the card base with liquid glue.
For the envelope I tried something I’ve never done before – I used an the same floral Fun Patterns embossing folder (Online Exclusive, available today!!) and embossed about 1/3 of the envelope and the flap. I lightly added Bubble Bath ink with a blending brush to only the embossed areas of the envelope.
That’s it for this card. I hope you’ll give it a try. If you do, please tag me at #stampwithnel so I can see your card. If you enjoyed today’s blog, I’d be honored if you’d share it with your crafty friends.

Retired Stampin’ Up! Products
My online Stampin’ Up! retired product store has been refreshed with additional products. I will be adding more retired products as I come across them. I have a variety of stamps, dies and embellishments. My stamps and dies are all gently used and most were purchased within the last two years (although some may be “vintage”). Dies might be on magnet cards as I did not start saving the original packaging until just recently. Designer Series Paper and embellishments are new in unopened packages unless otherwise stated.
