Happy Tuesday, y’all. Today I’m using up retiring designer series paper again – this time the Rock & Roll 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. I am also using the Happy Little Things Stamp Set for the first time.
If you watched my video tutorial on Sunday you know that my son will be graduating from college Mother’s Day weekend. It’s been a long road, but I am so very proud of him.
Although we have already given him his graduation gift, I think the work he’s done to get to graduation definitely deserves a card. I wanted to make a statement without a lot of fussiness that he wouldn’t appreciate, so I picked the Rock & Roll DSP and a simple sentiment – Celebrate YOU.
I used six (6) various lengths and widths of DSP and trimmed one end of each into a banner. I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel and dry embossed it with the retiring Timeworn Type embossing folder. I adhered the banners to the front of the panel layering them over each other with the bottom edges uneven.
I stamped the Celebrate You sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink and trimmed the Basic White cardstock around each sentiment. I used Foam Adhesive Sheets and trimmed them slightly smaller than my sentiment and popped my sentiment up. The foam sheets are very sturdy and give the sentiment great lift.
I added five Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems in black to the front card panel, then adhered the panel to the Basic Black card base.
For the inside panel, I used a scrap of DSP and Stampin’ Seal to adhere the DSP to the inside right corner. I stamped another Happy Little Things sentiment in Cherry Cobbler at the top of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic White panel. I adhered the panel to the cardstock with Stampin’ Seal.
For the envelope flap, I used more DSP – our goal is to use it up, right? I then stamped the decorative diamonds an the Happy Little Things Stamp Set “happiness” sentiment on the front of the envelope in Night of Navy.
And that’s my graduation card for my son. Super easy – a lot easier than his job of having to pass two crazy hard advanced math classes in order the graduate this semester!!
Thank you!

My online Stampin’ Up! retired product store has been refreshed with additional products. I will be adding more retired products as I come across them. I have a variety of stamps, dies and embellishments. My stamps and dies are all gently used and most were purchased within the last two years (although some may be “vintage”). Dies might be on magnet cards as I did not start saving the original packaging until just recently. Designer Series Paper and embellishments are new in unopened packages unless otherwise stated.
Due to Stampin’ Up! policies, I can only ship to U. S. addresses.
