Happy Inkin’ Thursday, y’all. It’s been a very hectic week at my house with my sister’s family visiting this past weekend, David’s Dad being admitted to the hospital (he was moved from ICU Wednesday and is expected to be released Thursday if he meets some milestones) and David traveling. I’ve been up since 1:00 am today – it’s going to be a looooong day, so I’m going to try to keep this short an sweet.
When life is this hectic, I often feel my creative energy is just stuck which is how I was feeling this morning. I almost bowed out of today’s hop, but I took a look at the new items that arrived this week and just had a play with them. And here I am 😉
Today the hoppers are working with a sketch challenge.
The Unbounded Beauty Suite has a lot of items in it, including glimmer paper! Now, this is not a glitter paper where glitter will decorate your home like Stampin’ Dimensional backings do. This is a lovely, glittery glimmer paper that doesn’t dust your home in 2024-2026 In Color glitter. All the sparkle, none of the clean up.
In addition to the glimmer paper, there is a lovely designer series paper using the 2024-2026 In Colors, embellishments AND two stamp and die bundles – the Flowers of Beauty Bundle and the Unbounded Love Bundle, a sentiment bundle with coordinating dies. I used both the Flowers of Beauty stamp set and the Unbounded Love Stamp Set for my card today.
I use a lot of Basic White cardstock, but I don’t normally use Basic White as my base. Today I did, and I jazzed it up with the Flowers of Beauty Stamp Set and the 2024 – 2026 In Colors. I used the large single flower outline and fill stamps, the double leaves and the smaller flower outline and fill stamps on the card base.
I picked the Petunia Pop glimmer paper for my first layer and used Fluid 100 Watercolor paper for my second layer. To create the water color block, I used clear block H and applied Summer Splash ink to it, then spritzed it with water. I put the block color side down onto my Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and left it in place for 5 minutes. After removing the block, I allowed the paper to completely dry.
I swiped the paper with an embossing buddy and stamped with VersaMark Ink. I used silver Metallics Embossing Powder to heat emboss. I added a Summer Splash ribbon to the watercolor paper layer and a faux bow on which I frayed the edges. I adhered the watercolor layer to the glimmer layer with liquid glue. I used three different colors of the 2024 – 2026 In Color Resin Dots to embellish the front and added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the matted front layer and attached it to the card front.
For the inside, I used an Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper mat and a Basic White sentiment panel. I used a scrap of Petunia Pop Glimmer Paper to decorate the bottom of the sentiment panel and stamped two Unbounded Love Stamp Set sentiments at the top of the page. I adhered the sentiment panel to the designer series paper with liquid glue (I know, not my usual method. In my defense, I was crafting tired), then adhered the matted panel to the card base with liquid glue as well.
I used another piece of Unbounded Beauty DSP for the envelope flap and trimmed it with paper snips. For the front of the envelope, I used the large flower in Peach Pie ink and added a Summer Splash ink center.
