Thank you for stopping by my blog. Today I have a masculine card for you using the Layering Leaves stamp set and the 2″ and 2-3/8″ circle punches.
I used Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pool Party and Very Vanilla cardstock for this card. I used the 2″ circle punch to make two Early Espresso and one Crumb Cake 2″ circles. I used the 2-3/8″ circle punch to punch a Pool Party circle.
I cut two strips of Crumb Cake and Pool Party. I then cut a smaller strip of Early Espresso. I centered the Early Espresso strip on the Pool Party strip and adhered them using multipurpose liquid glue. I then adhered this strip to the center of the card. I adhered a Pool Party strip to the right of the center strip towards the top, and a Crumb Cake strip pushed up against the Pool Party and adhered it using multipurpose liquid glue. I did the same on the left side of the center strip at the bottom this time.
I cut a 2″ Early Espresso circle in half and adhered it to the upper right of the very vanilla layer using multipurpose liquid glue. I cut the 2-3/8″ Pool Party circle in halve and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the left side of the card, about 1/2″ from the bottom of the Very Vanilla layer. Using my favorite adhesive, multipurpose liquid glue, I adhered the 2″ Crumb Cake circle to the front overlapping the center strip and bottom part of the top strip.
I really like using the items in the Embossing Additions Tool kit which include the embossing buddy, powder pal and reverse tweezers. I use the kit each time I heat emboss. I rubbed the embossing buddy over the Early Espresso 2″ circle. With Versamark watermark ink, I stamped the lovely script Hello sentiment from the Layering Leaves stamp set in the center of the Early Espresso 2″ circle (is anyone feeling like some coffee right now??). I used the reverse tweezers to hold the Early Espresso circle and then covered the stamped sentiment with White Basic Embossing Powder. I use the Powder Pal tray to catch the excess powder. I warm my Heat Tool on high before bringing it to the Early Espresso circle to melt the White Basic Embossing powder. I held the circle with the reverse tweezers since it is a small piece and the Heat Tool is quite warm. I just love how heat embossing looks.
I held the circle over the center of the card to determine where I wanted the sentiment placed. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the circle to the front, but instead of placing the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the circle then applying to the front of the card, I placed the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the Very Vanilla layer avoiding the previously placed strips. I didn’t want the sentiment to be uneven, so that’s why I made sure my Stampin’ Dimensionals were all placed on the same layer.
I colored a small, medium and large Rhinestone Basic Jewel with the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend marker. I then adhered the embellishments to the front of the card.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Very Vanilla front layer to the Early Espresso card base.
Time to decorate the inside layer. I used Very Vanilla for the inside of the card. I used the textured stamp from the Layering Leaves stamp set to stamp in the bottom right and top left corners. I used Pool Party ink full strength at the bottom right and then stamped without reinking in the upper left. I repeated the texture stamp in both Early Espresso and Crumb Cake using stamping off twice before stamping in each corner.
I didn’t use any designer series paper for this card, so I used my Simply Scored board and a piece of Early Espresso cardstock. I scored random lines using the small end of the Score Board stylus, then adhered the cardstock to the envelope flap with multipurpose glue and trimmed the cardstock. I stamped the Layering Leaves stamp set textured stamp in Pool Party three times on the front of the envelope, then stamped the Layering Leaves script Hello in full strength Early Espresso over the texture.
