Yay! It’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop Day! I’m so glad you’re here.
Today the designers were given a color challenge:
For today’s card I’ve made an easy fun fold using retiring products – the Earthen Elegance Suite, 2023-2025 In Color Dots, Heat & Stick Powder, Gilded Leafing and Distressed Gold Specialty paper. Have you tried Gilded Leafing? I love the look it gave my vase (you can especially see it in the side view). I like the contrast with the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.
To create my Gilded Leafing vase, I stamped the vase on Very Vanilla cardstock using Versamark ink, then sprinkled the Heat & Stick Powder over the ink and heated with the heat tool until melted – just like embossing powder. After that, I turned off my ceiling fan (this is actually quite important) and carefully opened the Gilded Leafing tub. I added Gilded Leafing to the vase and pressed, then used a 1/4 portion of a craft sponge to rub lightly to remove the excess leafing. The Gilded Leafing is very light and it does make a bit of a mess, so doing this in a box or other container to contain the scraps is helpful. I use the sponge only for the Gilded Leafing and store it in the same plastic bag I store my jar of Gilded Leafing in.
After creating the vase, I cut the vase handles from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and three large fronds in Earthen Elegance Pebbled Path DSP, Pebbled Path cardstock and Pecan Pie cardstock. I used the second smallest Everyday Details Dies circle in Very Vanilla and built my focal point on it.
I used two DSP patterns for the card – one for the smaller patterns and the other for the front and inside panel. I adhered them to the card using liquid glue. The narrow pieces are cut at 5-1/2″ long, and therefore reach top to bottom. I added three 2023 – 2025 In Color Dots in Pebbled Path to the card front.
For the inside sentiment panel I used Very Vanilla. I used Pebbled Path ink to stamp the sentiment and dry embossed the bottom of the Very Vanilla panel with the Earthen Textures textured die. As I usually do, I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the sentiment panel to the inside of the card.
For the envelope flap, I adhered the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper with liquid glue. I stamped the smaller vase on the front of the envelope with Pebbled Path stamped off twice. I used a sticky note to cover the top edge of the vase and stamped the Pampas Grass in Pecan Pie stamped off once.
