Hello and welcome to my blog! I am participating in two challenges with this card. My design follows the Freshly Made Sketches #610 challenge. Here is the challenge sketch:
My color scheme is from The Color Throwdown #767. I wasn’t sure that I could fit the pink in, but I think I was able to make all the colors play well together.
Specifically I used:
Here is my gratitude card made with the Stampin’ Up! All About Autumn bundle:
If you’ve read a couple of my blog posts, you’ll probably know at least two things about me. I love fall and I love embossing folders. This card checks both boxes for me. This week, NE Texas finally had some fall-like weather, although now we’re back in the 70’s. While we were a bit cooler, I channeled my Chicago area fall memories for this card.
I really love the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder. It made an appearance often when I first bought it, but I hadn’t yet pulled it out this season. It fit my theme today, so I embossed my mossy meadow cardstock with it using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine to start my card. I like how this folder is laid out as there is an unembossed section that is perfect for stamping a sentiment on. I planned for the sentiment to be at the bottom of the card and stamped after embossing. While the machine was still out, I used it to cut my three maple leaves from using the Autumn Leaves dies. I cut a small maple leaf out of each color – petal pink, crushed curry and copper clay.
I cut two lengths of the natural ribbon from the Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo pack I just received and then cut those lengths in have lengthwise. The outer edges of this ribbon are sort of stitched and I found that cutting that part off worked best for the technique I used to fray the ribbon. I was not concerned with making the center unfrayed part of the ribbon equal for all three pieces. If you want them the same, I suggest cutting the Natural Ribbon in a single length, cut it in half lengthwise and fray the ribbon, then trim to size to use on the front of the card.
I placed the ribbon across the width of the card and adhered about 1/2″ of frayed ribbon to the back on both sides, securing it with Stampin’ Seal. I curled the tips of the previously cut Autumn Leaves dies maple leaves very slightly, then adhered the leaves to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I placed my leaves so that the Stampin’ Dimensionals were on the cardstock more than on the ribbon.
I colored one of each size (small, medium and large) Rhinestone Basics Jewels with dark Copper Clay Stampin’ Blends (don’t you LOVE that you get both in the combo pack?) and placed them on the front layer. I adhered the card to the petal pink cardbase with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
There are a few texture dies in the Autumn Leaves die set that I don’t use very often. For this card I made it a point to use them. I used the smaller, thicker textured die on the very vanilla inside layer and stamped the twin leaves in crushed curry at the bottom right corner. I stamped the leaf stem in copper clay. I also used copper clay for the inside sentiment, today and every day.
I used the longer textured die on my envelope flap, embossing it three times in the top, center and bottom of the flap. I wanted it to appear random, so I moved the Autumn Leaves die to the left and right sides when embossing.
I stamped the large maple leaf in copper clay on the envelope front. Since I’m using a Kraft envelope, I used the copper clay full strength. The Autumn Leaves stamp set is a Distinktive stamp set, so the leaf image has a photo-realistic appearance. This set is just gorgeous – I hope you love it as much as I do.
Let me take this opportunity to let you know how grateful I am that YOU are here. I appreciate you taking the time to read my blog, commenting and making the cards. Please check out the PDF instructions and the video instructions for specific creating information. If you like what you see, please share my blog with your crafty friends.
Now that you’ve made the card, who will you send it to today?
