Good morning, blog readers and Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop day! Today the bloggers are working with a theme – Spring.
I recently received the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Envelopes and the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card pack. You might have picked up some of the cards & envelope packs FREE during Sale-A-Bration. As I was considering this blog hop theme, I realized the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card Pack has plenty of inspiration for spring and other themes. Therefore, I present you with this easy to recreate card. I did add a few items from my stash, but if all you have is some adhesive and the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Envelopes and the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card Pack you can make beautiful cards!
I used the Calypso Coral colored card for my base. I am not a huge fan of fussy cutting, so you’ll be excited to hear that there is a lovely, large self adhesive butterfly in the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card Pack. I used an embossing buddy, but you could use any cloth to remove some of the stickiness from the butterfly sticker (unless you’re sticking it directly to the card – don’t destick it then). II cut a piece of Pretty Peacock and Gold 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon and pulled several long strips out of the center of the ribbon. I added several Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the butterfly and laid the ribbon under the butterfly before adhereing it to the card front.
I trimmed two of the smaller floral cards to 1″ x 3″. I trimmed the LOVE panel to 3/4″ x 3″ as that matched the sentiment size. I cut 3/4″ x 2-1/2″ strips from scrap cardstock and used 4 on the back of the Calypso Coral flowers and 2 on the back of the multi-color floral and then only liquid glue on the back of the sentiment panel. This is similar to using dimensionals (5 strips of cardstock is about equal to the height of a Stampin’ Dimensional) but using scrap strips allows me to control the height of each layer. I added 5 Blooming Pearls in Bubble Bath to the front of the card.
I cut a 1/2″ wide strip of Crushed Curry with stars and adhered it to the 3-3/4″ x 5-5/8″ Basic White sentiment panel with liquid glue. I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the Basic White sentiment panel to the 4″ x 5-7/8″ Blushing Bride (retired) inside mat. The inside of the card is white so it’s just fine to leave it as is.
The Sweet Thoughts Memories and More Cards & Envelope pack has a lovely envelope with inside decoration. However, I added three self adhesive flowers to the front of the card just ’cause.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. These Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Envelope and Card Packs are such a quick and easy way to put cards together. I’ve given you all the dimensions needed to make the card, so no PDF tutorial today ;).
