Hello, y’all and happy Tuesday. I hope you caught my YouTube live on Sunday as I made this card for you then. If not, you can find the link below to the video right alongside the printable instructions for this card.
The first time I saw this card it stumped me. I thought the pieces were cut from the center of the card and layered. Thankfully, it’s waaaay easier to make than that!

I cut my Basic White Cardstock layers and stacked them very carefully on top of each other using repositionable tape to keep them in place. This is an important part of keeping the layers in place so if you have the tape I highly recommend using it.

I inked my Doggone Friendly Stamp well with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then used my stamp positioner tool and stamped on the layers of cardstock. There will be blank areas around each layer and that’s ok.
I used Real Red Cardstock for this card. The base is the standard 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ and then I added two more Real Red Cardstock Layers. When adhering the layers to the front of the card, I looked for landmarks on each layer to line up with the dog underneath. I wasn’t aiming for perfection, but just wanted the lines to generally flow together.
I used a sentiment from Unbounded Love Stamp Set and stamped on Basic White Cardstock. I then die cut the sentiment using the Unbounded Love Dies and the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. The die cuts an inner portion and an outer frame, so I cut a second one in Real Red and used the Real Red Cardstock outer and Basic White Cardstock inner pieces to create the complete sentiment panel. To keep them together, I used tape on the back. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment panel to adhere it to the card front.

I wanted a Real Red ribbon, so I colored the Black & Very Vanilla 3/8″ ribbon with the dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends. I simply tied a knot in the ribbon and adhered it to the sentiment panel with a mini glue dot.
For the inside, I used the Pets & More Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped five paw prints on the inside panel. I had colored much more ribbon than I used for the sentiment panel, so I cut a 5-1/4″ piece and used Stampin’ Seal to adhere it to the left side of the panel.

I used the flowered Fun Patterns Embossing Folder to emboss Real Red Cardstock and adhered it to the envelope flap with liquid glue.

I used the Pets & More Stamp Set dog bowl and stamped near the front address in Real Red Ink, then did the reverse stamping in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamped off once.

Retired Stampin’ Up! Products
My online Stampin’ Up! retired product store has been refreshed with additional products. I will be adding more retired products as I come across them. I have a variety of stamps, dies and embellishments. My stamps and dies are all gently used and most were purchased within the last two years (although some may be “vintage”). Dies might be on magnet cards as I did not start saving the original packaging until just recently. Designer Series Paper and embellishments are new in unopened packages unless otherwise stated.
Due to Stampin’ Up! policies, I can only ship to U. S. addresses.
